The Lesson
Four filters that distort truth: (1) The news. They have incentives to scare you. (2) Single sources (even more so if anonymous). No corroboration. (3) Out-of-context clips. They don't show the full picture. (4) Financial incentives. They're selling something. The only thing you can believe are things you see with your own eyes. Your eyes will not fool you.
Real-World Example
Tech headlines scream "AI will replace all developers!" But walk into any engineering office: teams are hiring, Slack is buzzing, PRs are flowing, companies are building. VCs are still funding. Your eyes show reality. The clickbait shows narrative. As a founder, make decisions based on what you observe in YOUR market, not what pundits predict.
