DRAWING A CAT

two circles. ears. eyes. done.

The Lesson

Drawing isn't about talent. It's about breaking complex shapes into simple ones. A cat is: (1) Two circles. One for head, one for body, overlapping slightly. (2) Two triangles on top for ears. (3) Two ovals for eyes, small triangle for nose. (4) Curved line for tail, four stick legs. (5) Whiskers and fur details come LAST. The insight: every complex thing can be decomposed into simple shapes. Start with structure, add detail only after the foundation works.

Real-World Example

System architecture follows the same pattern. Don't start with microservices and Kubernetes. Start with two boxes: frontend and backend. Add connections (the ears and tail). Add the core data flow (the eyes). Only THEN add the details. Caching, queues, monitoring. Founders who start with complexity create cats that look like nightmares. Start with circles.
