Moist Robot

THE MOIST ROBOT HYPOTHESIS

you are programmable. change your inputs.

The Lesson

You are a "moist robot." Biological hardware running chemical software. Your thoughts and behaviors are OUTPUTS of your inputs. Change the inputs, change the outputs. Inputs: what you eat, how you sleep, who you spend time with, what media you consume, your physical environment. You don't need willpower to change behavior. You need input management. The person who thinks they're "deciding" to eat healthy is wrong. The person who doesn't keep junk food in the house doesn't need to decide.

Real-World Example

A founder wants to be more creative. Willpower approach: "I'll force myself to brainstorm every morning." Input approach: Change environment (new coffee shop), change media diet (read outside your field), change people (lunch with artists, not just engineers). The creativity emerges as an OUTPUT of the new inputs. You don't motivate a moist robot. You program it.
