DEALING WITH FALSE ACCUSATIONS
“don't defend. judge the judger.”
The Lesson
When accused of something ridiculous and false, the wrong approach is defending yourself or saying 'out of context.' That has never worked in the history of the world. The right approach: flip the frame. Ask them directly, 'Do you actually believe that? Seriously, look at me. Do you think I believe that?' Now you've changed the frame from 'bad thing you said, yes or no' to 'are you so dumb you'd believe this?' You become the judger of the judge. Never leave that position. The accusation isn't worthy of defense.
Real-World Example
A founder is accused on Twitter of copying a competitor's product. Wrong response: 'We didn't copy, here's our development timeline.' Right response: 'Genuinely asking. Do you actually believe two products in the same category means one copied the other? I'd like to understand what evidence you think supports that.' Now the accuser is on defense, explaining themselves. You're not defending. You're judging the quality of their judgment.
