BUILDING A FITNESS HABIT

every day. never painful. always want tomorrow.

The Lesson

The mental system for fitness: (1) Be active EVERY day. No 'exercise days' and 'rest days.' All days are exercise days (even if it's just cleaning the garage). If you allow days off, you'll take them. (2) Never experience pain. 'No pain no gain' is for professional athletes. For lifetime fitness, you want every session to end with 'I want to do this tomorrow.' If you don't have that thought, you did too much. (3) Match energy to schedule. Some people need morning workouts, others need evening. Find your rhythm. The goal is to hypnotize yourself into being a fitness addict through consistently positive experiences.

Real-World Example

A founder tries to get fit. Wrong approach: intense CrossFit 3x per week, sore for days, dreading sessions. Right approach: 15-minute walk every single day. No skipping. Gradually it becomes 20 minutes. Then add one pushup. Then two. Every day ends with 'that felt good, I'll do it tomorrow.' A year later, you're doing an hour daily and can't imagine not exercising. Consistency beats intensity.
