Success

REFRAMING

how you frame it changes what you do. reframe everything.

The Lesson

Reframing means looking at something differently to change your strategy. Success as learnable skill: if you think success is luck or connections, you won't try. If it's a skill, you'll study it. Manage energy not time: do creative work when your energy is right for it, not when it's scheduled. Alcohol is poison: calling it poison instead of beverage makes it easier to drink less. You will be addicted to something. Don't fight addiction, redirect it to positive addictions like exercise or meditation. Brains are programmable: once you see your brain as reprogrammable hardware, you start seeing opportunities everywhere. Food is fuel or entertainment: broccoli is fuel, cheesecake is entertainment. 'Do I need more entertainment?' is an easier question than 'Should I eat this?'

Real-World Example

A founder struggles with afternoon energy crashes and overeating. They reframe: food is fuel or entertainment. Lunch becomes fuel (protein, vegetables), and they stop asking 'am I hungry?' and start asking 'do I need more entertainment?' They reframe time management as energy management, blocking creative work for 6am when they're sharp, meetings for 2pm when they're social but not creative. They reframe their coffee addiction as acceptable since it's positive. Small reframes, large behavior changes.
