ANXIETY REFRAMES
“deathbed test. add thoughts. stress is energy. ego is enemy.”
The Lesson
Reframes for anxiety (don't need to be 'true'. Just useful): (1) Deathbed test. Will this matter at end of life? Probably not. (2) Can't subtract thoughts. Only add better ones until they crowd out the bad. (3) Social media = vampire sucking your energy for others' profit. (4) Stress = excess energy-use it for exercise. (5) Criticism = tiny chemical reaction in a stranger's skull far away. Why care? (6) Learn to LIKE embarrassment through practice (Dale Carnegie method). (7) Your ego is your enemy-it prevents you from taking risks. Kill it. (8) Control the controllable. (9) A-B test everything. (10) Never stop working on this-it's a lifelong job.
Real-World Example
A founder can't sleep due to investor rejection anxiety. Reframes: 'On my deathbed, will I care about this investor? No.' 'This anxiety is energy. I'll channel it into tomorrow's workout.' 'Their criticism is a tiny chemical reaction in their brain. Not touching me.' 'My ego feels hurt. Ego is my enemy, not my friend.' Sleep comes. The reframes don't make problems disappear. They make them manageable.
