CONTROL THE CONTROLLABLE
“luck is random. controllables aren't. master them all.”
The Lesson
Some things depend on luck; others are completely controllable. Master all the controllables: fitness, diet, skills, fashion, haircut, manners, empathy, consideration for others, location, effort, usefulness to others, even cleaning your room. If you control everything controllable, good luck takes you higher and bad luck doesn't destroy you. Each mastered domain builds confidence for the next. The more you conquer, the more you're willing to try. Make controlling controllables your full-time ambition. It's the best odds for success.
Real-World Example
A founder can't control whether VCs fund them. But they can control: fitness (sharp mind, high energy), skills (learn sales, learn code), grooming (look competent), location (move to where deals happen), effort (outwork everyone), usefulness (help others expecting nothing back). Each controlled element compounds. When luck finally arrives, they're ready to capture it. The controllables created the surface area for luck to land on.
