STRATEGIES VS OBSTACLES
“work on strategies. obstacles become irrelevant.”
The Lesson
The standard success plan says remove obstacles first, then pursue strategies. But this is backwards. If you focus on strategies-studying, building skills, staying healthy, networking, presenting well-those strategies make obstacles irrelevant. A really good skill set slices through obstacles like they don't exist. People who focus on obstacles tell themselves 'no point working on myself until obstacles are removed.' That's a losing philosophy. Work on yourself first. Success is mostly imitation-look at what works for successful people and do that. The obstacles will shrink in importance surprisingly fast.
Real-World Example
A founder faces obstacles: limited network, no pedigree, skeptical investors. Old frame: 'I need to remove these barriers first.' New frame: work on strategies-get insanely good at the product, build skills investors value, dress and present professionally, network relentlessly. Two years later, the obstacles are still technically there, but they don't matter. The founder's excellence made them irrelevant.
