LAZINESS IS FOCUS DIRECTION

laziness = thinking about effort. ambition = thinking about outcomes. redirect focus.

The Lesson

What if laziness is just a thinking habit-focusing on effort instead of outcomes? Ambitious people think about results; lazy people think about how hard it will be. Women have second children because they forget the pain and remember the joy. If they focused on childbirth pain, humanity would end. When I think about my projects, I think about benefits, not work. That produces dopamine, which moves me. The fix: develop a habit of thinking about positive outcomes instead of required effort. Think about the delicious food, not the trip to get it. This simple redirect might cure laziness.

Real-World Example

A founder procrastinates on a difficult task. They notice their thoughts: 'This will take hours. It's going to be tedious. I don't want to start.' They redirect: 'When this is done, I'll have closed the deal. The team will celebrate. We'll hit our quarter.' Dopamine hits. They start. Same task, different mental focus. The 'laziness' was just attention pointed at the wrong thing.
